Stage one of the Aclare Shower Filter uses KDF. This natural copper/ zinc filter media is very effective in removing chlorine and it enhances the pH balance of your shower water. KDF can also remove up to 99% of water-soluble lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals. Another benefit of KDF is controlling shower and bathroom scum, bacteria, and algae.

The second stage of the Aclare Shower Filter uses a liquid phase virgin activated carbon. This proprietary media has been manufactured to produce a catalytic reaction similar to what takes place in the PCI-Aire product. The Aclare Shower Filter carbon is produced from bituminous coal using a patented process. It is effective in the removal of synthetic chemicals, THM’s and VOC’s that vaporize from shower water and are inhaled or absorbed through the skin, potentially causing adverse health and cosmetic effects.

These two stages come together to create the most effective shower filtration system on the market. In fact, it is currently the only shower filter that is effective in removing chloramines which are known carcinogens.
